Pre-travel

It seemed so long ago that we considered then booked this trip. Excitement not only with the joy and thrill of going to one the most remote (not to mention coldest, driest and unpopulated) places on our wonder Earth, also going to Chile. What can we do there? the sea, the mountain, Patagonia, Lakes, Snow, Desert, Volcanoes. In the End we cannot do everything so the decision was made go to Atacama desert, Santiago and Antarctica.

Then came the dramas with the shipping company we were to travel on to Antarctica, was our trip over before it begain? however Unconventional conventions stepped up and did, what I believe was the correct thing, booked us all on a new ship. It was all on again. rebook flights...

As the countdown continued, we considered what to take; we are going from the very summer climate of Santiago to the dry Atacama desert to the cold of Antarctica. so much to take, so little room...
